Marketplace is so Archaic

I’m going to apologize because I tend to point out problems so I always think people will start noticing how negative I am, just understand that I am also very negative in-person, so I’m not delving too far outside my true self by posting this.

I digress (no idea what these words mean, or whether digressing is a verb or how to use it in any other sentence other than this simple way "I digress… [which I have, as you can see].

I doubledowndigress… Have we not the technology to improve the form function and feel of this marketplace so that it resembles something deserved to be called a market at all in 2021. I mean, there are coins that you can get with a picture of a dog on them and people think those are worth something, which I admit is sort of irrelevant except to say that anything is possible… that is, anything except buying or selling efficiently on this marketplace.

I identify problems. I’m no good at solutions, please insert yours below.

If you have any suggestions on how to improve the Forum or the Market Place overall, please do let us know

There are a lot of really good poker suggestions pending, but I didn’t see a single one incorporated into this last fiasco of an update.

@SHU106 I believe this post was meant to speak on the actual Forum website and the market within. Again we aren’t sure exactly what improvements you would like to see made but we would take any feedback into consideration.

Its just that there has to be a better way to trade coin for vouchers amongst the community to make it more efficient.

If enough trades happen it seems inevitable that a negative experience would occur.

There should be a market more like a visible graphic auction house that you would see in a mmorpg or other kind of video game in which trade can occur for all kinds of tickets and vouchers utilizing both ethereum and international/national methods of payment.

There’s a few items to discuss here as most of this is already addressed in our ‘Best Practices’ and/or things that are already implemented.

I’m not sure where this issue with notifications comes from as it’s the first time we’ve ever heard of players having issues with this. Note that you can simply go to your preferences from your profile picture on the top right and go to your notification settings to ensure they’re working as you wish. Also, players don’t really have to go out on a limb as long as proper procedure is followed, as we essentially vet all market/selling posts and the buyer is always the one who provides funds first. There’s more to following procedure than that as linked above, but if protocol is followed you can be assured that the funds are available unlike over other markets.

This does sound a lot like the payment option we already have available called Matchpay which essentially automatically matches you with a player that is trying to sell a certain amount. Note that both of these methods already incorporate the idea I’ve bolded above as well, as ultimately the trading method is up to you and the buyer/seller. There’s a few we recommend against, but this is a decision you can make between you and them and incorporates all these methods already.

Hey I didn’t bold that, you bolded that!! I did say it though, so I will own it. I will check out the match pay, but as far as how you explained it, that doesn’t sound at all like a modern auction house. The words bolded above were in reference to having an auction house, not just matching up buyers and sellers and hoping for the best in trading etiquette and results. Itd be better to eliminate those potential negative experiences and make the system and community trading more efficient.

Good catch! My apologies and I’ve edited it correctly now.

In terms of the auction house idea, ultimately there’s obviously a big difference between us being an online gaming community and a platform such as EBAY. trading for random items or tickets isn’t really the purpose of the market as it’s more geared towards trading account funds from player to player. While an interesting idea, this would essentially be a whole different business concept and not really something I believe we’ll be implementing in the near future.

Again the one thing I would have to disagree with here though is stating that these trades are just ‘wishing for the best’. It simply isn’t true and if procedure is followed trades are generally pretty seamless and we do offer a layer of protection that honestly even these other auction house type sites don’t have since we have the ability to actually check if funds are available in their account before even allowing a sale post to be created.
