Poker Deposit Bonuses

Gotta say, one of the things I really liked about Ignition, was when you used a deposit bonus for poker, you could actually PLAY with the bonus money, to get more volume in, and generally enjoy yourself more. I recently noticed in the last week or so, Ignition has took that away, and now deposit bonuses are straight-locked, and you can only play with deposited funds to unlock the bonus funds, just like every other site out there (including the sister site that shall not be named).

That was one of the features at ignition that really set you guys apart from everyone else, and now you’re just like them in that regard. That’s really disappointing. Part of the fun was shot taking in higher buy-ins. I see no use in even using a deposit code anymore. Which if anything, punished the poker Ignition partners. I was looking to do a lump $1,000 deposit, but if I’m gonna have to play with the funds I’m depositing anyway, and playing tourneys, it doesn’t really do me any good to use a deposit code from a partner now. Wish you hadn’t changed that.

@SoloAsylum Thank you for the feedback. Can you help clarify this as all of our deposit bonuses over the last couple of years will lock the deposit amount.

Do you mean as opposed to the poker welcome bonus where the bonus is slowly made available through a kind of drip system, you would like all the bonus funds available upfront to be able to use?

Every time I used a poker specific deposit bonus code on ignition, or got a poker specific deposit bonus added by customer service, the funds were playable. Let’s say for instance, I deposited $100, and the deposit bonus was for 50%, if I were in the poker tab, I would have $150 available to play with even though $50 was still “locked” bonus funds. And since it’s a poker dependent bonus, if I went to the casino section, it would only show me having $100 available. Or Live Dealer Blackjack, I’d have $100 available. (Obviously the $100 is “locked” too, and not withdrawable)

I used a code today, and now it’s the same way as every other site, where you can only play with $100, and you only get bits and pieces thrown back at you. Which is horrible if you’re a tournament player, or want to take higher stabs at bigger buy ins.

Why would I want to deposit $1000 now for a 150% Poker Ignition Partner deposit code bonus, to have $2500 locked up, and only get $2-3 tossed back my way for every $1-200 in tournament buy ins when I’m restricted to only being able to buy in with the $1000 now instead of the $2500.

@SoloAsylum Thank you for the clarification. Yes, the recent promo code you used will work as you described with the bonus unlocking a few dollars at a time but we do still offer the other bonus types too.

Each bonus will be unique so the way the funds are either available right away or released to you as you play will change from bonus to bonus.

But it’s not the same way it was. I’ve used Ignition Poker Partner deposit codes before, and they were as I described above. Why in Gods name would they change it to this way now. That’s the point I’m trying to make. Which makes me glad I only used a small amount, because if I would have deposited $1000 today, and all that money got locked up, I would have been extremely pissed. It’s extremely hard to unlock when you’re only playing MTT’s

Each bonus type is different so brings its own benefits.

For you, the preference of having the funds available to play right away even with needing to clear the rollover before the funds are withdrawable is what you like.

Others may prefer the other method, where the bonus funds aren’t all available right away but when the bonus is released increment by increment you get that increment in withdrawable cash right away as opposed to waiting for the whole rollover to clear.

Again, I think its a preference situation but I just wanted to clear up that we do still offer bonuses that work as you’re describing.

I guess so Matt, I’ve only seen it one time on Ignition with a poker bonus, but that was only a legit “Poker Drip” bonus offer I’d gotten thru email one time in my whole time on Ignition (and even then, customer service told me they don’t even offer those anymore), but I guess I’m just saying I wished they hadn’t messed with the Ignition Partner deposit bonuses or at least if they were going to do that, that they would had made it clear which type it was going to be.

Same thing with sports. I like to play virtual horses and dogs but the bonus does not apply to virtual wagering. :unamused:
